Today I received my second copyright strike, if I will receive a third all my blogs will be deleted, so, if “spyrale” and “coolpopsart” will disappear, you know why.

So, the point is: I make posts with beautiful artworks, I always give proper credits to the artist, I always provide links to artist’s page and/or shop, you know that, do you? Dear artist, I love your work, I promote your work, I make people buy your work…in return you gave me a copyright strike. Yeah, it makes sense.

And you guys should know that I never refused to remove a post if I was asked to. Never.

I wrote to Tumblr, but I already know their answer: YOU HAVE TO ASK COPYRIGHT OWNER PERMISSION. So, if you post a Donald Duck picture you should ask Disney permission. You have been warned :) Tumblr is a giant copyright infringment pool, they should take down everything. Yeah, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, too, everything, all the social networks.

Besides, I’m a curator for Society6, RedBubble and Design by Humans, how can I promote art if I cannot share art? With telephaty? Hypnosis? I don’t know, really. I’m thinking about quitting everything, I’m pretty tired with this nonsense.

All artists out there should take Butcher Billy as an example, if you share his artworks he always leaves a like, sometimes he even do reblogs and retweets. He’s the coolest artist I know and his artworks are amazing.

What do you guys think I should do?

Update: I contacted the artist who reported me: she was kind and understood what I do here and how I do it. She will email Tumblr to take back the copyright strike. Thank you. Now, let’s hope that Tumblr staff will do his job and delete the strike.

Update 2: Tumblr wrote - - > You should only post copyrighted content on your blog if you’re the copyright holder or have permission from the copyright holder. If you can’t find a way to get such permission, you shouldn’t post the content in order to comply with copyright law.
